The hotel's proximity to the vibrant Tanukikoji Shopping Street and Hokkaido University Botanical Gardens made it incredibly convenient for exploring Sapporo on foot, reinforcing a delightful urban experience.
Unfortunately, the shared showers were not well-maintained, leading to cleanliness issues that detracted from the overall comfort of my stay.

Conveniently located near popular shopping spots.
My stay at Theatel Sapporo Hotel was frustrating. The shared showers were not only dirty, but parts were indeed broken. I was also disappointed by the lack of proper light-blocking curtains. the hallway light kept me awake at night, and it made the overall experience uncomfortable.

The Smart Capsule, Male/Female Mixed room exceeded my expectations for a capsule hotel. The bed was the most comfortable I've encountered in Japan, perfect for a solo traveler like me. Despite the limited space typical of capsule hotels, the overall design allowed for easy movement. I appreciated the thoughtful touch from the receptionist, who provided a bathroom access password for the female side, enhancing my comfort. Located smack in the heart of Susukino, I had tons of nearby food options and nightlife. However, the common area had issues. I was disappointed when I found out that it wasn't available for use during my stay because it was reserved for a private event. This limited my ability to socialize or relax outside my capsule. Also, the shared bathrooms could use a bit more attention to cleanliness. Still, the overall experience was pleasant, especially considering the central location and reasonable pricing.

as if that wasn’t enough, i was very disappointed by the cleanliness—dust from the pipes was literally raining down. expect a welcome gift or at least something special for my stay? nope, nothing of the sort. just sad!

It was just a good pick for a brief pause in Sapporo with definitely value for money. The unique capsule experience was surprisingly comfortable, allowing me to rest well after a long day. Make sure to check for laundry services early as the instructions can be a bit unclear.
